Climate emergency: actions and professions for a sustainable future
The Cité des Métiers is the largest exhibition in Switzerland on professions and training with about 80’000 visitors, including 30’000 young people. It takes place every two years.
For several years, the United Nations Office in Geneva, the Fondation pour Genève and the Fondation Eduki have been participating in the exhibition to raise public awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals and to present “the careers of International Geneva”.
This year, the Fondation pour Genève, the Eduki Foundation and the United Nations Office at Geneva are innovating with a new event formula, a public conference, on Saturday 26 November from 4 to 6 pm at Palexpo, on the theme: “Climate emergency: actions and professions for a sustainable future”.
The event will be in two parts, with a conference by Michel Jarraud, meteorologist and former Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organisation, on the actions that the various actors of international Geneva are undertaking in the face of the climate emergency, followed by a meeting with experts from international Geneva. A unique opportunity to exchange views on their work within the United Nations system !
An advice and information area on careers for a sustainable future will also be held, to inform participants on the possible career paths in international cooperation.
