An evening celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fondation pour Genève and the presentation of the 2026 Prize to Ivan Pictet
Surrounded by 450 people who have supported and shared its mission for 50 years, the Fondation pour Genève celebrated its anniversary and presented its 2026 Prize to Ivan Pictet, President of the Fondation Portail des Nations, on Tuesday 9 June. An award specially designed by the Geneva-based artist Fabian Menor.
Speeches by State Councillor Anne Hiltpold and Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis highlighted the enduring partnership between the Foundation, the authorities and the private sector, founded on the conviction that “Geneva has something to offer the world, and that the world has a place in Geneva.”
The festivities provided an opportunity to celebrate the past whilst building momentum for the future. In this anniversary year, the Foundation is engaging young people in discussions about Geneva’s role, notably through its comic book project on international cooperation and AI, due to be published in autumn 2026.
