Geneva, a laboratory of climate initiatives
In the run-up to COP27, the Club Diplomatique de Genève and the Fondation pour Genève organized a round table on the role that international Geneva can play in the fight against climate change.
In the presence of Abdalah Mokssit, Secretary of the IPCC, Beatrice Ferrari, Director of International Affairs of the Canton of Geneva, Jean-Pierre Reymond, Director of 2050Today and Michel Jarraud, Secretary General Emeritus of the WMO, the event identified ways for Geneva to become a laboratory for climate initiatives.
Putting a price on carbon emissions, creating a Climate Change Champions Initiative or setting up an observatory to monitor the decisions taken at the COPs were some of the ideas discussed last night with 85 members of the Diplomatic Club.
