Reception at the Swiss Residence

Bringing together private and public actors around International Geneva

The Fondation pour Genève was delighted to welcome international organisations, authorities, politicians, academic institutions and the private sector to the Swiss Ambassador’s residence at the UN for its traditional reception to mark the end of the summer break. This convivial evening highlighted Geneva’s sense of dialogue, its unifying force and its determination to take action.

Speeches by Marc Pictet, President of the Geneva Foundation, Ambassador Jürg Lauber, Permanent Representative of Switzerland to the UN and President of the Human Rights Council, and State Councillor Nathalie Fontanet all emphasised that even if International Geneva undoubtedly contributes to the region’s economic dynamism, it is above all a reflection of our values of peace, humanity and support for victims of conflict. And these are values that we must stand up for together to face the current threats.
